Recipe: Garlic Green Beans

Ingredients

  • fresh green beans
  • butter
  • garlic
  • salt & pepper

Directions

  1. Trim your beans & rinse them if needed.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the green beans for just 2-3 minutes.
  3. Dump them into a strainer in your sink.
  4. Melt some butter in a pan (or be lazy like me and use the same pot you boiled them in!) over medium heat.
  5. Add the garlic and cook about 1 minute until fragrant (be careful that your pan isn't too hot so the garlic doesn't burn).
  6. Add your drained green beans back in and stir them around in the garlic-buttery goodness. add salt & pepper to taste.

Note: If you like your green beans softer, you can boil them longer. if you like them crunchy, boil them less. I like mine crunchy with a little char on them, so I don't boil them too long and then saute them in the butter for awhile until they have a little black on 'em!Recipe curtesy of Emily
